Steve Spurrier
American Football Legend
NPGA welcomes Steve Spurrier to the 2025 Southeastern & International Propane ExpoTM as our keynote speaker. Spurrier was the 1966 Heisman Trophy winner from the University of Florida and went on coach his alma mater to numerous wins, including the 1993 Sugar Bowl and the 1996 National Championship. He is the first coach in college football history to win 100 games in his first 10 years (1990-1999), while at University of Florida. Spurrier is the winningest coach in school history at Florida and at another Power 5 university, South Carolina.
Spurrier was inducted into the National College Football Hall of Fame as a player (1986), and as a coach (2017), and into the National High School Hall of Fame (2016). He has been married to Jerri Starr, his college girlfriend, for over 50 years. They have four children and 14 grandchildren.
Ever a Gator, he is an Ambassador and Consultant at the University of Florida and part owner of Spurrier’s Gridiron Grille – a first-class restaurant in Gainesville, FL.
